September 27 (SeeNews) - The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 6.2 billion kuna ($968.9 million/826.8 million euro) at the end of August, up 2.82% on the year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 3.35% year-on-year to 4.3 billion kuna at the end of August, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 1.9 billion kuna, 1.64% above the prior-year level, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau.
Twenty-five insurance companies operated in Croatia in August.
At the end of 2016, 23 insurance companies operated in the country, earning combined gross written premiums of 8.8 billion kuna, up 0.42% year-on-year.
