May 17 (SeeNews) - The combined gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 3.3 billion kuna ($492.6 million/444.1 million euro) at the end of April, up 1.11% on the year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 2.0% year-on-year to 2.3 billion kuna at the end of April, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 1.0 billion kuna, 0.79% lower than the year-ago level, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau.
Twenty-five insurance companies operated in Croatia in April.
At the end of 2016, 23 insurance companies operated in the country with combined gross written premiums of 8.8 billion kuna, up 0.42% on the year.
