May 21 (SeeNews) - Croatian hotel operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] said on Monday it has increased its own shareholdings to 1.5270%.
The company purchased 20,595 of its own shares, representing 0.0163% of its share capital, on May 16. A day later, it bought a further 20,952 own shares, equal to 0.0166%, Valamar said in a filing to the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
The company now holds a total of 1,924,479 of its own shares.
Valamar provided no additional details.
Valamar Riviera owns two brands: Valamar Hotels and Resorts and Camping Adriatic. With the acquisition of Imperial in 2016, a hotel group on Rab Island, Valamar Riviera Group now operates 30 hotels and resorts and 15 camping resorts in five attractive destinations along the Adriatic coast – from Istria and the islands of Krk and Rab to Dubrovnik.
Tourism is a key industry for Croatia, generating around a fifth of the country's gross domestic product.
