February 28 (SeeNews) - The commercial court in Zagreb appointed Fabris Perusko as new receiver of Croatia's troubled Agrokor concern on Wednesday to replace Ante Ramljak, who has resigned, Agrokor said.
Fabris Perusko was nominated to the post by the Croatian government.
The commercial court has also, according to the proposal of the government, appointed Irena Weber as deputy receiver.
"Both of them are experts who are already working in the Agrokor system," Agrokor said in a statement.
Fabris Perusko is member of the management board of news stand operator Tisak in charge of finance and restructuring and Irena Weber was the advisor to Ramljak for non-core businesses and asset portfolio. Tisak is company of Agrokor group.
The new Agrokor receiver has a degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in economics from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He acquired his MBA degree in 2008 at Babson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
Perusko started his career in the Slovenian IT firm Halcom, today owned by the Canadian company Constellation Software Inc. During his stay in the US he worked for the Boston-based investment bank Bulger Capital Partners and after his MBA graduation he joined consultancy company McKinsey&Co., according to the statement.
After five years in consulting, in 2013 Perusko took up the role of a COO at the Moscow-based company Lamoda.ru, the Russian division of the London Global Fashion Group. In May 2017 he joined Tisak.
Irena Weber graduated from the faculty of economics in Zagreb in 2000. Weber joined Agrokor in April 2017, prior to which she was a management board member at Kent Bank in charge of the corporate sector, legal sector and IT. Weber also
Last Wednesday, Agrokor's outgoing receiver, Ante Ramljak, said he has tendered his resignation after it emerged that he had hired his former employer, Texo Management consultancy, to advise on the process of Agrokor restructuring. It was also made public that at the time when Agrokor and Texo Management signed the consultancy services contract, Ramljak was still formally employed by Texo.
