November 6 (SeeNews) - Croatia's defence ministry said on Monday it has received a U.S. government donation worth some $1.5 million (1.3 million euro) in the form of engineering equipment.
Croatia received a digger-loader, two freight vehicles and two water purification systems, to be used in peace keeping missions overseas as well as at home in cases of natural disasters, the ministry said in a statement.
"With these important donations, the United States is helping strengthen the capabilities of its partners and allies in contributing to peace operations in the world", Croatia's defence minister, Damir Krsticevic, said.
So far this year, Croatia has also received from the U.S. a bulldozer, a backhoe loader, four 20 kW power generators, a 120 kW generator, a field kitchen for 600 people, six self-unloading trucks and three HMMWV vehicles.
