January 12 (SeeNews) - Passenger numbers at Croatia's airports increased to 204,000 in November, up 271% compared to the same month of 2020 when the spread of the coronavirus pandemic brought air travel to a standstill, official statistics showed on Wednesday.
The total number of landings and take-offs at Croatian airports rose 55% year-on-year in November, reaching 4,354, while cargo volumes increased by 28.3% on the year to 829 tonnes, the statistical office said in a statement.
However, passenger traffic in November 2021 amounted to just 58.2% of the traffic reported for the pre-pandemic November 2019.
Zagreb airport served the largest number of passengers in November - 162,000, up by an annual 286.6% - followed by the airport in Split with 26,000 passengers and Dubrovnik airport with 13,000 passengers.
The most significant international traffic in November - some 51,500 passengers - was registered on routes to and from German airports, followed by airports in the Netherlands, France, and Turkey.
