May 4 (SeeNews) - Croatia's government said on Friday it will invest over 2.0 billion kuna ($323.3 million/270.1 million euro) into projects in the coastal city of Split and the Split-Dalmatia county.
The government said in a press release it is holding its weekly session in Split on Friday, following which it will sign several contracts with the municipal authorities.
"We have brought more than 2 billion kuna to Split and the county, through projects and contracts to be signed after the session," Croatia's prime minister, Andrej Plenkovic, said.
The funds will be invested in projects concerning transport infrastructure, environmental protection, healthcare, and property ownership issues.
Plenkovic noted that Split has a driving role in Croatia's economy as the second largest city in the country.
"Split must be the centre of the Croatian Mediterranean, the engine that will drive the development of everything we want to strengthen in the future", Plenkovic said.
