February 19 (SeeNews) - The European Space Agency (ESA) said on Monday it signed a cooperation agreement with Croatia paving the way for more intensive and concrete work related to ESA programmes and activities.
"We need to build synergies through this agreement between space science, research, education and industry," Croatian science minister Blazenka Divjak said after the signing ceremony, as quoted by ESA in a statement.
With this agreement, ESA has now established formal cooperation with all EU member states that are not ESA member states.
Following the signing ceremony Divjak told media, "We may soon have a Rimac car in space," news daily N1 reported.
Sveta Nedelja-based Rimac Automobili, founded in 2009, develops and produces high-performance electric vehicles, drivetrains and battery systems.
In a separate statement, Croatia's science min said the agreement will facilitate research for peaceful purposes and will boost the development of meteorology, environmental protection, satellite navigation and robotics.
