September 2 (SeeNews) - Croatia is expected to bring in 767,000 tonnes of wheat in 2019, 3.9% more than a year earlier as larger areas were harvested, the country's statistical office said, citing earlier estimates.
Wheat fields increased by 6,000 hectares to 142,000 hectares this year, the statistical office said in a statement on Friday.
The wheat yield is seen at 5.4 tonnes per harvested hectare in 2019, the statement said without providing an annual comparison.
This year's output of rapeseed, on the other hand, is expected to drop by almost 30% to 110,000 tonnes, as a result of a decrease in the harvested area by 11,000 hectares to 44,000 hectares. The yield is seen at 2.5 tonnes per hectare.
Barley output is seen unchanged at 228,000 tonnes this year, yielding 4.3 tonnes per hectare on a total harvest area of 53,000 hectares.
Oats output is estimated to rise by 13.3% to 51,000 hectares, yielding 3.0 tonnes per hectare on a total harvest area of 17,000 hectares.
