October 12 (SeeNews) - The volume of retail trade in Croatia grew by 18.1% year-on-year in August, the second-highest rate of increase among EU member states after Malta with 19.6%, Eurostat said.
The volume of retail trade on an annual comparison basis increased by 1.1% in the whole EU and did not change in the euro area, according to Eurostat data published on its website last week.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's retail trade volume went up by 1.7%, followed by Romania with a 0.9% increase. Bulgaria's volume fell by 1.1% month-on-month.
