February 26 (SeeNews) - Croatia's finance ministry placed two Eurobond issues worth a total of 2 billion euro ($2.4 billion) on international financial markets on February 25, it said on Friday.
The finance ministry issued 1 billion euro worth of bonds due in 2033 with a coupon rate of 1.125%, paid annually, and a yield of 1.257%, it said in a statement.
The ministry also raised 1 billion euro in its longest-ever issuance on international markets. This issue, maturing in 2041, carries a coupon rate of 1.750% and a yield of 1.788%.
Demand exceeded 3.2 times the nominal amount of the two issues, the finance ministry noted.
The proceeds will be used to refinance an existing Eurobond issue maturing in March, as well as for general government expenditures.
