March 8 (SeeNews) - Croatia posted a trade deficit of 5.4 billion kuna ($816,817/728,346 euro) in January, as compared to 5 billion kuna in the same period a year earlier, the country's statistical office said on Friday, citing preliminary data.
Exports increased 4% on the year, reaching 8.2 billion kuna, while imports rose 5.5% to 13.6 billion kuna in January, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Exports to the EU increased to 5.7 billion kuna, from 5.5 billion kuna in January last year.
Croatia's imports from the EU grew to 11.1 billion kuna, from 10.1 billion kuna in January 2018.
