September 29 (SeeNews) - Insurer Croatia Osiguranje said on Friday it has received the approval of the country's financial regulator, HANFA, to acquire over 50% of the local unit of its French peer BNP Paribas Cardif Insurance.
Croatia Osiguranje is now set to take over a qualified shareholding in its peer, it said in a filing to the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

In May, Croatia Osiguranje said it concluded a deal with BNP Paribas Cardif Insurance to take over 100% of its Croatian unit, BNP Paribas Cardif osiguranje, for an undisclosed price.
