October 9 (SeeNews) - Following are some of the main stories in the online versions of Croatian media on Friday morning. SeeNews has not verified these reports and cannot vouch for their accuracy.
- The Croatian Employment Bureau has forecast there will be 280,000-290,000 unemployed in Croatia by the end of the year. In September, the number of unemployed increased 3.3% on the month to 259,000. This is as much as 16.6% higher compared to September 2008.
- Although the budget of the Tourism Ministry for next year is yet to be determined, Tourism Minister Damir Bajs expects total funds allocated for tourist promotion in 2010 could be around 30 million euro, or 2.0 million euro more than this year.
- Croatian car battery producer Munja plans to sue the state for 32 million kuna in damages it claims it sustained as a result of interrupted gas supply during the crisis in January. The company is still considering whether to also seek compensation for loss of earnings. In that case, the claim could be worth about 100 million kuna.
