- Deputy PM Damir Polancec has asked the European Commission (EC) for better conditions for the privatisation of the six state-owned shipyards. Polancec also asked for a meeting to inform the EC about the outcome of the first round of privatisation.
- Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak arrives to Croatia on his first formal visit to the country, whose purpose is strengthening bilateral relations, especially in economy. Mubarak will discuss with Croatian President Stjepan Mesic global and regional issues important for both countries, including the economic crisis and the situation in the Middle East.
- The banking sector in Croatia has matured and is one of the most developed among all transition countries, including some European Union member states, Croatian Banking Association HUB director Zoran Bohacek said.
