August 20 (SeeNews) - Croatia will finish 2018 with tourism revenue 5 to 7 percent higher compared to last year, tourism minister Gari Cappelli said.
So far this year, Croatia is seeing growth in tourist arrivals and overnights of some 5% each, Cappelli said in a government press release on Sunday.
In the first three months, the country booked 14% higher revenue from tourism, compared to prior-year period, and expects good results in the post summer season, the minister noted.
"This rhythm will continue and we will end the year as we predicted - with five to seven percent growth, which is almost twice as big compared to the World Tourism Organization forecast of about three percent," Cappelli added.
Tourism contributes almost 20% of Croatia's GDP.
Croatia saw a record 18.5 million tourist arrivals in 2017, up 13% on the year. This year, the country expects 20 million arrivals.
