January 17 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer prices increased by 13.1% on the year in December, after rising by 13.5% in November, the statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) dipped by 0.3% in December, following an increase of 0.9% in November, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
Croatia's average annual inflation accelerated to 10.8% last year from 2.6% in 2021 and 0.1% in 2020.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight in the consumer basket, of 25.93%, rose by 19% year-on-year in December. The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel prices, which have a 16.87% weight, grew by 16%, while transportation costs surged 8.4%.
Measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), Croatia's inflation eased by 0.1% in December on a monthly comparison basis and was 12.7% higher on annual level.
