May 7 (SeeNews) - Croatia ranked highest among countries in Southeast Europe (SEE) in a travel and tourism competitiveness ranking, followed closely by Slovenia, the World Economic Forum (WEF) said.
Croatia occupied the 33rd place in the ranking and Slovenia was 39th, according to the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2015 published by the WEF on Wednesday.
First compiled in 2007, the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) measures the factors and policies that enable the sustainable development of the travel and tourism sector, which in turn, contributes to the development and competitiveness of a country.
Spain topped the ranking, with a score of 5.31.
