December 6 (SeeNews) - State-controlled flag carrier Croatia Airlines [ZSE:CRAL] said it has transported a record two million passengers year-to-date.
For the first time since the company launched passenger services in 1991 it has carried two million passengers in one year, Croatia Airlines said in a statement on Tuesday
So far in 2017, Croatia Airlines has seen passenger traffic growth of 10% year-on-year. International traffic has expanded by 11% and domestic traffic by 7% in the reviewed period.
The growth of passenger traffic, among other things, is the result of the introduction of four new seasonal routes in May this year - from Zagreb to Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki and Bucharest, as well as continued seasonal flights to Lisbon, Milan, Prague and Saint Petersburg, which were launched last year.
Croatia Airlines has also extended seasonal flights to Barcelona and Lisbon through to the winter months due to high passenger interest.
Overall in 2017, the airline expects to carry 2.1 million passengers.
