January 16 (SeeNews) - Croatian state-controlled flag carrier Croatia Airlines [ZSE:CRAL] said on Monday it has singed a deal to lease six A220 aircraft with Irish company Air Lease Corporation Clover.
The deal concerns four A220-300 and two A220-100 aircraft, it said in a filing with the Zagreb bourse without disclosing any further financial details.
The deal is in line with Croatia Airlines' post-Covid strategy to replace all of its existing airplanes with a single-type fleet of jet-powered aircraft by 2026. It has selected for that Airbus aircraft with a capacity of 148 seats and 127 seats for delivery in the period from 2024 to 2026. So far, it plans to replace 12 aircraft, with an option to add three more ones in 2027.
In November, Airbus signed a firm order for six new A220 passenger aircraft with Croatia Airlines and that the Croatian company plans to lease an additional nine A220s.
Croatia Airlines' shares last traded on the Zagreb Stock Exchange on December 28, when they closed flat at 35 kuna ($5.0/4.6 euro).
