January 13 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Croatia rose by 5.0% to some 12.27 million through November, the Croatian Statistics Bureau said on Monday.
Overnights were up by 3.3% to 64.4 million in the first eleven months of 2013, the Statistics Bureau said in a statement.
Tourists from Germany booked the largest number of overnights in Croatia through November, followed by visitors from Slovenia, Austria, the Czech Republic and Italy.

Tourism is a key industry for Croatia, contributing around a fifth of the country's gross domestic product. The Adriatic country reported a 3.3% increase in tourist numbers to 11.84 million in 2012 while overnights were up by 4.0% to 62.74 million.
