SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 13 (SeeNews) – Corruption levels in Bulgaria, Macedonia and Slovenia increased in 2014 compared to a year earlier, independent watchdog organisation Freedom House said.
In another eight countries in Southeast Europe (SEE) corruption levels remained unchanged, Freedom House’s Nations in Transit report, which was published on Thursday, indicated.
Following are details from the report, which also ranks countries in terms of independence of media, judicial independence and civil society, among others. Countries are rated on a scale of 1.0 to 7.0, with 1.0 representing the highest and 7 the lowest level of democratic progress.
