Croatia's soft drinks and water bottling company Jamnica [ZSE:JMNC], part of ailing Agrokor concern, said its consolidated pre-tax profit rose to 142.6 million kuna ($22.2 million/19.2 million euro) in the first half of 2018, from 84.3 million kuna a year earlier.
Jamnica's consolidated net profit jumped to 116.9 million kuna, from 58.8 million kuna a year earlier.
Jamnica's first-half operating income dropped 6.0% on the year to 1.13 billion kuna, while its total revenue fell to 1.14 billion kuna from 1.23 billion kuna, the company said in a Zagreb bourse filing on Monday.
Jamnica's long-term liabilities decreased to 27.96 million kuna in January-June from 29.71 million kuna a year earlier, while short-term debt rose to 1.15 billion kuna from 1.06 billion kuna.
In June, Agrokor said that Jamnica is its most valuable company, estimated to be worth 494.9 million euro.
In April last year, the government seized managerial control of Agrokor from its owner, Ivica Todoric, under special legislation designed to prevent the collapse of the concern.
On July 4, Agrokor creditors holding 80.20% of total claims against the concern voted to uphold a settlement deal which envisages the establishment of a new Agrokor concern owned by the creditors, in which the largest individual shareholder will be Russia's Sberbank with a 39.2% stake.
Bond holders will have a 24.9% stake, local financial institutions 15.3%, Russia's VTB bank 7.5%, while suppliers will hold 4.7%. Among the Croatian suppliers of Agrokor, diversified conglomerate Adris Grupa [ZSE:ADRS] will have the largest share of the new concern with a 1.4% stake.
