January 28 (SeeNews) - The coronavirus crisis has so far cost Croatia over 2.5 billion kuna ($400.9 million/330.5 million euro), health minister Vili Beros said on Thursday.
The Croatian government has spent over 685 million kuna on Covid-19 tests, 450 million kuna on medical treatment, 115 million kuna on sick leave and over 82 million kuna to purchase the Remdesivir medication, among other things, Beros told parliament during a session streamed on its Youtube channel.
The health minister added that Croatia has paid hundreds of kuna for the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines, noting he could not reveal the exact sum.
By January 15, the country has reserved 6.8 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, Beros said.
On Thursday, Croatia confirmed 619 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 230,978. So far, 4,943 patients have died from the disease.
