May 16 (SeeNews) - Automotive parts supplier Continental Romania said it is investing 4 million euro ($4.7 million) to expand the system for treating olfactory emissions at its Timisoara plant, Continental Anvelope.
The investment focuses on reducing the perception of smell specific to tire production in the perimeter adjacent to the factory, Continental said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company said it has conducted pilot tests on the technical solution since December 2013.
"This investment is part of our sustainable development strategy, which focuses on efficiency, productivity and environmental protection," Continental Anvelope Timisoara general manager, Sorin Samonid, said.
Continental Tires Timisoara is the first and largest investment of Continental group in Romania. In 18 years of activity in Timisoara, Continental has invested more than 460 million euro and has created over 2,500 jobs.
Between 1999 and 2017, Continental invested around 1.4 billion euros in its activities in Romania.
All 5 continental divisions are represented in Romania. Continental owns seven production units and four engineering centers in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Nadab, Brasov and Iasi.
Continental is also a partner of a joint venture in Slatina and has a tire distribution center in Bucharest.
Continental will increase its team with over 1,000 new members this year in Romania.
