March 31 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of German automotive parts supplier Continental said on Friday that it has invested 8 million euro ($8.7 million) in a new building at its business premises in the northeastern city of Iasi.

The investment project was concluded earlier this year.
"The roof is completely covered with photovoltaic panels that provide electricity for the electric car charging stations as well as the complete lighting system," Marian Petrescu, director of Continental Iasi, was quoted as saying.
Continental has been present in Romania since 1999. The company owns a tyre distribution centre in Bucharest and six production units and four engineering centres - in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Nadab, and Iasi.
