March 15 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of German automotive parts supplier Continental said on Wednesday that it invested around 180 million euro ($190 million) in its operations last year.
Continental's workforce in Romania increased by 1,500 people in 2022, reaching 17,000 employees, the company said in a press release.

The company plans to invest in new machinery and equipment and keep adding new members to its Romanian team in 2023, it said without providing figures.
"Of course, the engineering area, which covers hardware, design, mechanics and other work areas, will remain a core pillar of the company's business this year as well, complemented by software that has a significant impact on the transformation of the industry," said Christian von Albrichsfeld, Head of Country Continental Romania.
Continental has been present in Romania since 1999. The company owns a tyre distribution centre in Bucharest and six production units and four engineering centres - in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Nadab, and Iasi.
