The acquisition will help Continental expand its internal supply chain and infrastructure, optimize and harmonize internal processes related to storage, local production and intralogistics, and will enable the company to start to manufacture items for industries other than automotive.
"In the last 10 years of operation, Continental has invested over 50 million euro in our air conditioning and transmission belt factories, and created a large number of jobs," ContiTech Timisoara general manager Irina Szekeres said.
In Timisoara, the company has two production units which produce aluminum ducts for air conditioning systems and transmission belts. Continental manufactures annually about 9 million ducts for car air conditioners, industrial and commercial vehicles and 17 million belts which it sells in Europe, Asia and America.
