July 4 (SeeNews) - U.S. management and technology consulting firm BearingPoint said on Wednesday it has opened its fourth office in Romania.

The new office is located in the northeastern city of Iasi and will initially provide consulting services to financial customers, BearingPoint said in a press release.

This company said it chose Iasi for its prestigious technical university and qualified IT staff.

"After an 11-year presence on the Romanian market, BearingPoint takes the natural step towards the region of Moldova, where we intend to employ 100 in the coming years," Christian Gurny, country leader BearingPoint Romania and the Czech Republic, said. Iasi is located in Romania's historic region of Moldova.

BearingPoint's global consulting network employs more than 10,000 specialists and serves customers in more than 75 countries.

In Romania it has offices in four cities - Bucharest, Sibiu, Iasi and Timisoara.
