April 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Garitage Investment Management said on Friday it has started the construction of a 5 million levs ($3.1 million/2.6 million euro) sports hall at its residential and business complex Garitage Park in Sofia, proceeding to the second phase of the project.
The sports hall will have the capacity to welcome 1,700 spectators and will be used by local volleyball club Levski, Garitage Investment Management said in a statement.
The second phase of the project also includes the construction of two office buildings, offering 48,000 sq m of leasable area and 1,200 parking spaces.
When completed, the property development project in the southeastern outskirts of Sofia will comprise 95,000 square metres of office space, 60 000 sq. m. of residential space, 4,500 underground parking spaces, a primary school and a sports hall.
In January, VMware Bulgaria, part of US-based cloud computing company VMware, said it will rent more than 20,000 sq m of office space in two buildings in Garitage Park.
