February 5 (SeeNews) - The construction of the Marriott hotel in Mostar in Bosnia should be completed by June 30, the CEO of the privatisation agency of Bosnia's Herzegovina-Neretva Canton said as quoted by local media.
The hotel spreads over 32,000 square metres and will employ some 100 workers, news portal Klix.ba reported late on Tuesday.
However, the investor, local businessman Emil Keco, had to complete the works by September 30, which is why the project now needs a new building permit.
More than 90% of the works are completed, as some 72 million marka ($40.5 million/36.8 million euro) have been invested so far, the report said.
The hotel is being built on the site of former hotel Ruza, which was privatised some 20 years ago.
The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is one of ten cantons forming Bosnia's Federation, which is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
