June 14 (SeeNews) - Dubai-based fund Arqaam Capital and hospitality company Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will launch at the end of 2017 the construction of a luxury mixed-use resort on Croatia's island of Hvar, a project valued at nearly 1 billion kuna ($151.4 million/135.1 million euro), Croatia's tourism ministry said on Wednesday.
Arqaam's five-star resort, which will be managed and operated by Four Seasons and located in Brizenica Bay, will have 120 rooms and a hundred luxury villas and apartments, the tourism ministry said in a statement.
The hotel will also include indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and fitness centre, several restaurants and bars, conference halls, as well as a dock for seaplanes.
The project has been included on a list of strategic projects for Croatia.
World-class architects and designers will be involved in the project, including firms such as Gensler Architects, Scott Brownrigg, Richmond Hospitality Design and Tihany Design, while the entire project will be led by the world-renowned construction company MACE.
Four Seasons Resort Hvar is expected to open in 2019.
