SOFIA (Bulgaria), March 4 (SeeNews) – The construction of the gas pipeline between Bulgaria’s northeastern towns of Dobrich and Silistra will start on March 5, the country’s gas transmission system operator Bulgartransgaz said on Monday.
The pipeline will be 80 kilometres long and will have a capacity of 100,000 cubic metres of gas per hour, Bulgartransgaz said in a statement.
The project's total value is 12.3 million euro ($16 million), including 9.2 million euro provided from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development under the Kozloduy International Decommissioning and Support Fund (KIDSF) and 3.1 million euro provided by Bulgartransgaz.
Bulgartransgaz operates a pipeline network with a total length of 2,750 kilometres and the country’s Chiren underground gas storage, which has a capacity of 550 million cubic metres of gas.
