March 20 (SeeNews) - The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bulgaria rose to 112, the health ministry said on Friday.
Patients who have tested positive for the COVID-19 remain under in hospitals across the country, the health ministry said in a statement.
Late on Thursday, the ministry reported the first cases of the disease in Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv.
To date, most of the cases were detected in the capital Sofia, including three deaths related to the disease.
Last week, Bulgaria's parliament backed a government proposal to declare a state of emergency until April 13, in order to enable the authorities to more efficiently fight the spread of the disease. Subsequently, the country ordered all stores except for pharmacies and food stores to shut down until further notice.
