November 28 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition said that it has ordered municipally-owned company Stolichen Electrotransport, which services the capital Sofia, to cancel its 38.4 million levs ($21.8 million/19.6 million euro) tender for supply of 30 new electric buses and 10 charging stations.
The draft contract included in the tender documents does not meet the relevant legal standards, the competition regulator said in its decision earlier this week.
Stolichen Electrotransport has also included outdated legal acts and international quality standards in its requirements, the regulator concluded.
The competition authority looked into the procedure following a complaint by local company Bulgarian Automotive Industry.
Stolichen Electrotransport launched the tender in August, but the procedure was halted on several occasions due to complaints filed with the competition regulator.
The company was planning to finance the contract with EU funds.
