January 18 (SeeNews) - The Coca-Cola Company said on Thursday it will open a development centre for intelligent technology in Bulgarian capital Sofia which will offer business solutions to the global market with a focus on Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The main operations of the new centre will include SAP software solutions, data analytics, mobile applications, machine learning, robotics, infrastructure and information security, as well as technology solutions for the company’s marketing, finance and technical functions, Coca-Cola said in a e-mailed statement.
The Sofia development centre will be the second largest in terms of operational scale, services provided, and employee base within the company's global network which brings together several development centres in the US, Mexico and Singapore and others.
"Bulgaria is in a favourable time zone to support all EMEA & APAC [Asia-Pacific] zones and in Sofia we have a number of tech focused Universities which give us the opportunity to recruit talented young people and to provide them with an opportunity for their global career development. The ease of travel, the ability for quick hops to all of EMEA, as well as a strong business climate, stable government and incentives for new business are amongst the key benefits of Sofia as a strategic business location," Zhelyazko Petrov, director of the Sofia development centre, said in the statement.
"We are partners with the local branches of top companies like SAP, ATOS and Microsoft and we are planning to widen our partners’ network within the next year," Petrov added.
The Sofia-based centre will create 130 new jobs.
