April 3 (SeeNews) - Coca-Cola Romania said it has invested 11 million euro ($12.3 million) in a new water bottling line and upgrades at its Poiana Negrii production plant in Suceava county.
The investment includes a new water bottling line, an upgrade to an existing production line and an increase in storage capacity which is expected to lead to a 10% rise in the number of jobs, Coca Cola said in a press release on Tuesday.
"Romania is one of the most important markets for the Coca-Cola System, and such investments help us meet the increasing demands of our customers and consumers for the Dorna and Poiana Negri water brands. The new production line is faster, more efficient and has a low impact on the environment," Coca-Cola HBC Romania's general manager Jovan Radosavljevic said.
The production capacity of the new bottling line is 1.3 million litres per year, 44% higher than the older one, and will help the company reduce water consumption in the production process by up to 6%.
With this latest upgrade, the investment by Coca-Cola Romania on the local market since 1991 has exceeded 210 million euro.
Besides the production facility in Suceava, Coca Cola operates two other plants in Romania - in Ploiesti and Timisoara.
In 2017, Coca-Cola Romania inaugurated a high-speed bottling line at its Timisoara plant, following a 7 million euro investment.
