February 6 (SeeNews) - International broadcaster Central European Media Enterprises (CME) said on Wednesday that its Bulgarian business generated an operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) of $21.6 million (19 million euro) in 2018, up from $16.2 million the year before.
CME's net revenue from Bulgarian operations rose to $84.6 million last year from $77.3 million in 2017, the company said in an annual financial statement.
In the fourth quarter alone, CME's OIBDA in the country fell to $8.5 million compared to $9.6 million in the last quarter of 2017, despite a slight increase in revenue.
CME's Bulgarian revenue edged up to $25.4 million in the October-December period of 2018 from $25.2 million in the same quarter of 2017.
CME's portfolio in Bulgaria comprises TV channels bTV, bTV Cinema, bTV Comedy, bTV Action, bTV Lady and Ring.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, the company is also active in Romania and Slovenia.
