July 23 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian business of international broadcaster Central European Media Enterprises (CME) posted an operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) of $8.6 million (7.35 million euro) in the first half, up from $4.2 million in the same period last year.
Net revenues from Bulgarian operations rose to $42.9 million, up by 18.8% in the January-June period, CME said in a financial report.
CME's portfolio in Bulgaria comprises TV channels bTV, bTV Cinema, bTV Comedy, bTV Action, bTV Lady and Ring.
CME's total OIBDA which includes operations in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia, rose by 18.7% year-on-year to $86.3 million in the first half. Total net revenues increased by 15.5% to $298.7 million for the period.
In Romania, CME's portfolio includes TV channels PRO TV, PRO 2, PRO X, PRO GOLD, PRO CINEMA, PRO TV International, MTV Romania and PRO TV Chisinau.
