April 23 (SeeNews) - Croatia's city of Velika Gorica, the Zagreb County Football Association and Chinese company Z-Run Well Ton Industry have signed a partnership agreement for investment in Velika Gorica's sports infrastructure, the city council said.
"The city has presented the possibility for investment in sports infrastructure, which implies a stadium. The Chinese delegation paid a visit to the potential field which meets the requirements for building a stadium", Velika Gorica's mayor Drazen Braisic said in a press release last week.
Under the partnership agreement Z-Run intends to invest some 150 million euro ($168.8 million/1.1 billion kuna) in a new soccer stadium with a capacity of 30,000 seats, Croatian private TV channel N1 reported last week.
"I thank the partners from the Chinese Southeast European Business Association (CSEBA) who mediated our arrival to the Republic of Croatia. We know that Croatian soccer fans expect quality sports infrastructure, especially stadiums and we are happy to be part of this important project," Jiang Yu, founder of Z-Run Well Ton Industry, was quoted as saying in the press release.
