BELGRADE (Serbia), January 23 (SeeNews) – Chinese company Mei Ta plans to invest 100 million euro ($122.5 million) in the construction of a second car parts factory in Belgrade, the city mayor, Sinisa Mali, said on Tuesday.
The construction of the factory with a footprint of 55,000 square metres in the Obrenovac neigbourhood of Serbia's capital will start at the end of February or the beginning of March, while the completion is scheduled for September or October, Mali said in a statement.

Mei Ta currently employs 800 at its factory in Belgrade and plans to increase its total workforce in Belgrade to 2,500, Mali added.
"In the upcoming period, we will continue to grow, with the hope that the citizens of Obrenovac and Serbia will remain a favourable employment option," a representative of Mei Ta, Chang Ching Cheng, said in the statement.
Earlier this year, Mei Ta completed the construction of a car parts factory in Obrenovac in which it invested 60 million euro.
Mei Ta manufactures automotive parts, engine parts and general industrial parts. The company operates several production facilities in France, Slovakia, China and India.
