BELGRADE (Serbia), July 4 (SeeNews) – Representatives of China's Hunan Gold Group visited the production plant of Serbian copper miner and smelter RTB Bor and expressed interest in possible cooperation, Blagoje Spaskovski, managing director of RTB Bor, has said.
The delegation of Hunan Gold Group was led by the managing director of the company, Chen Zelu, who was impressed by the production facilities of RTB Bor, Spaskovski said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug on Monday.

"It is true that we lack capital to open our own mine and operate the new smelter at full capacity. The processing of our own concentrate brings a significantly higher income than what we are earning from the processing of imported raw materials," Spaskovski said.
China's ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang said last month that two Chinese companies were interested in the privatisation of RTB Bor. One of them is based in the province of Hunan and operates the biggest gold mine in China, Manchang said.
"The technology and the mines we saw today left us deeply impressed. That is why I hope that we will achieve successful cooperation with Bor, for our mutual benefit," Zelu said in the video file.
In November, Serbia's economy ministry said the government is trying to strike a deal that will allow a big Chinese company to enter RTB Bor, as was the case of steel group Zelezara Smederevo.
