BELGRADE (Serbia), September 15 (SeeNews) – China's Hainan Airlines started operating a regular service between Beijing and Serbia's capital Belgrade, via Prague, Serbia's government said on Friday.
The first flight on the intercontinental route after a 17-year pause was operated with a А330-300 aircraft, the Serbian government said in a press release.
In July, Serbian media reported that the Beijing-Belgrade will be operated twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.
Serbian trade minister Rasim Ljajic said in June that Hainan Airlines plans to start operating a direct Belgrade-Beijing route in 2018, increasing significantly the number of Chinese tourists visiting the Balkan country.
Hainan started operating a direct regular service between Prague and Beijing in September 2015, data from the website of Prague airport shows.
