BELGRADE (Serbia), September 20 (SeeNews) – China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) plans to complete the construction of the Surcin-Obrenovac motorway section of pan-European Corridor XI in Serbia by December 19, a senior company oficial has said.
"I know that everyone is interested in the completion date, this section will be completed by December 19, according to plan," CRBC general manager for Central and Eastern Europe, Zhang Xiaoyuan, said, according to a press release issued by Serbia's infrastructure ministry on Tursday.
Serbia signed a $233.69 million (211.3 million euro) agreement with China on the design and construction of Surcin-Obrenovac section of Corridor XI in June 2016. The agreement was signed by Serbia's economy minister and the director of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), a unit of CRBC, during an official visit of China's president Xi Jinping to Belgrade.
Corridor XI runs through Serbia from the country's northeastern border with Romania to the southwestern border with Montenegro.
