BELGRADE (Serbia), September 18 (SeeNews) – Serbia's government said on Tuesday it signed an agreement with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) for the construction of an industrial park in the Belgrade suburb of Borca.
CRBC will invest a total of 220 million euro ($257 million) in the construction of the industrial park, while the total investment of the companies that will set up facilities on its territory will amount to about 2.0 billion euro, the government said in a statement.
The industrial park will spread on an area of 320 hectares and will attract about 1,000 Chinese companies, opening some 10,000 jobs, Serbian finance minister Sinisa Mali said.
The exact number of the companies that will set up facilities in the industrial park will be determined in the coming months, he added.
In January, Serbia's government said it plans to set up a joint venture with CRBC for the construction of the industrial park and that works will start by the end of the year.
