March 1 (SeeNews) - Serbia's agriculture ministry said on Wednesday that China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has started preparations for building an industrial park in the country.
The project for the construction of an industrial park in Serbia will be financed by the Chinese government and results will be visible by the end of the year, the agriculture ministry said in a statement.
A major portion of the park will be reserved for the agricultural industry, the ministry added. It did not say where the industrial facility would be built.
The Serbian government aims to attract Chinese companies to the project, in order to encourage the export of agricultural products to China, it added.
Serbian agriculture minister Branislav Nedimovic held a meeting on Wednesday with the president of CRBC, Lu Shan, to discuss the construction project.
In December 2015, CRBC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Serbian government for the joint construction of an industrial park.
CRBC is building the Bar-Boljare motorway in Montenegro, part of pan-European Corridor XI, a ferry/motorway corridor linking Italy's Bari to Romania's Bucharest via Montenegro's Bar port and Serbia's Belgrade.
