December 3 (SeeNews) - China Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC) has expressed interest in participating in a project for the overhaul of the Valjevo-Loznica section of the railway line linking Serbia's Belgrade to Montenegro's Bar, the Serbian infrastructure ministry has said.
"We hope that we will have the opportunity to participate in infrastructure projects in Serbia as part of the global initiative One Belt, One Road," the infrastructure ministry quoted the director for the Balkans at CCECC, Sun Man, as saying in a press release on Monday.
Serbia has very good cooperation with many Chinese companies, especially through the One Belt, One Road initiative and the government is pleased that CCECC has decided to have its regional representative office in Belgrade, Mihajlovic said during a meeting with Man in Belgrade.
In October, Serbia's government signed a contract to take out a 172.5 million euro ($191.2 million) loan from Russia for the overhaul of 209.8 km of the railway line linking Belgrade to the border with Montenegro, the construction of power infrastructure at the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad stretch of the Belgrade-Budapest railway, as well as the establishment of an Integrated Traffic Control Center.
