April 21 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government said it has received from China the third tranche of a grant in the amount of 20 million yuan ($2.9 million/2.7 million euro) for the reconstruction of the Djurdjevica Tara bridge over the Tara River, in the north of the country.
The agreement for the third tranche of the grant was signed between the two countries in December 2020, the government said in a statement on Thursday.
Montenegro previously received two donations amounting to 20 million Chinese yuan each for the reconstruction of the Djurdjevica Tara bridge, under the economic and technical cooperation agreements signed by the two countries in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Djurdjevica Tara bridge is a 365-metre-long concrete bridge with a roadway above the Tara River. The bridge connects the northern municipalities of Plevlja and Zabljak to the 165-km long motorway linking Montenegro's Bar port to the Boljare border crossing in Serbia.
