February 8 (SeeNews) - Total chargeable electric vehicle (EV) registrations in Bulgaria rose by an annual 107.5% to 220 in 2018, following a strong rise in battery EVs, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, ACEA, said.
Of the total, battery EV registrations soared 185.3% to 194 in 2018, while plug-in hybrid EV registrations decreased by 31.6% to 26, ACEA said in a statement on Thursday.
Regarding hybrid vehicles, Bulgaria also saw a hefty 33.9% increase in registrations, to 1,600 in 2018.
In addition, there were 292 registrations of alternatively-powered vehicles in Bulgaria last year, compared to none in 2017.
Petrol car registrations rose 15.6% to 18,795, while new diesel cars edged up 0.3% to 19,707.
