November 18 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of business process outsourcing company Computer Generated Solutions (CGS) said on Wednesday it has hired new 500 employees this year to meet increasing demand for support services during the coronavirus pandemic.
Most of the new hires were made in Brasov, Bucharest, Galati, Sibiu and Targu Jiu, CGS Romania said in a press release.
"CGS has enjoyed, over time, the support of stable customers who have backed our business and encouraged us to expand on the Romanian market through new projects that have permanently generated new hires. Thus, this year also we have concluded a series of contracts with new clients or we extended projects with already existing clients, and this has translated into a substantial volume of employment," CGS Romania country manager Vladimir Sterescu explained.
According to Sterescu, CGS Romania plans to make a similar number of new hires in 2021.
Some 90% of the new employees were hired at entry-level positions at CGS call centers, telecommunications, technical support or financial consulting departments.
Currently, 70% of all 4,000 CGS Romania employees are working from home.
U.S.-based CGS has been present on the Romanian market since 2006. It provides services in 18 languages from support centres in seven cities.
CGS was founded in 1984 in New York and currently employs over 7,500 across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
